ADDA has done a restless task since 1979 and some of its most outstanding facts have made fundamental changes for the defense of animals in Argentina and have been examples for other countries.

Laws in force originated by ADDA

Based on an ADDA’s project, the Education and Justice Ministry forbade the vivisection and dissection of animals in elementary and high school levels (Res. 1299/87) in 1987.

The Education Department of Buenos Aires City adhered to the rule by Municipal Law 2632/88.

Municipal Law 41.904 was approved taking into account an ADDA’s project that asked for the banning of delivering animals as a bonus of the entrance ticket to fairs, exhibitions, and shows. And it also reinforced the prohibition of delivering animals as prize and their exhibition as ornament.

The Council House of Buenos Aires City granted by law an authorization for placing a monolith in honor to lab animals in 1986. It is placed in Bernardo Houssay Square, in front of the School of Medicine of the Buenos Aires University.

Although these laws were directly originated on ADDA’s projects, this entity has also contributed taking part during the elaboration and studying process of other bills related to the animal area.
